Deborah Patrick, 53, of Coarsegold, has been appointed warden of the Central California Women’s Facility (CCWF). She has served as acting warden at CCWF since 2006. From 1994 to 2006, Patrick was an associate warden for the Valley State Prison for Women, where she served as acting chief deputy warden and acting warden on an as needed basis. She served as an associate warden at CCWF from 1992 to 1994. Prior to that, Patrick served as a correctional business manager at the Northern California Women’s Facility from 1989 to 1990. She started with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in 1985 as an associate budget analyst before being promoted to staff services manager in 1987. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $129,108. Patrick is a Republican.
Anthony Hedgpeth, 54, of Salinas , has been appointed warden of Kern Valley State Prison (KVSP). He has served as the acting warden of KVSP since January 2007 and has worked for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) since 1981. Hedgpeth previously worked at the Salinas Valley State Prison (SVSP) from 1998 to 2006 where he held several positions including chief deputy warden. Hedgpeth served as a correctional lieutenant from 1989 to 2000 at California State Prison, Corcoran (COR), SVSP and Wasco State Prison. Prior to that promotion, he served as a correctional sergeant at COR and the California Correctional Institute in Tehachapi from 1986 to 1988. Hedgpeth began his career with CDCR in 1981 as a correctional officer at the Correctional Training Facility in Soledad . This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $129,108. Hedgpeth is a Republican.
Lydia Hense, 49, of Visalia , has been appointed warden of North Kern State Prison (NKSP). She has served as acting warden of NKSP since 2006. Hense previously served as chief deputy warden for California State Prison, Corcoran (CSP-C) in 2006 and was an associate warden at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison, Corcoran (SATF) from 2003 to 2006. Prior to that, she was a correctional counselor III from 1998 to 2003 at CSP-C and at California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters. Hense has worked for the CDCR since 1996, starting as a correctional counselor II at (CSP-C). Prior to joining corrections, she worked for the California Department of Developmental Services from 1978 to 1996. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $129,108. Hense is a Democrat.
Victor Almager, 49, of Galt, has been appointed warden of Centinela State Prison (CEN). He has served as acting warden of CEN since 2006. Almager previously served as correctional administrator at the Deuel Vocational Institute (DVI) between 2003 and 2006, where he was responsible for the administration and management of DVI’s 3,100 offender reception and classification center. From 1999 to 2003, Almager was a senior special agent for the Office of Investigative Services (OIS), an investigative and internal affairs branch of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). Previously, he was a correctional captain at DVI from 1997 to 1999. Almager began his career with CDCR in 1982 as a correctional officer at the California Men’s Colony. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $129,108. Almager is a Republican.
Juan Salazar, 50, of Blythe, has been appointed warden of Chuckawalla Valley State Prison (CVSP). He has served as acting warden of CVSP since January 2006. Salazar previously worked at Centinela State Prison (CEN) from 2001 to December 2005 where he served as acting warden, chief deputy warden and associate warden. From 1994 to 2001, Salazar served at Calipatria State Prison as an acting associate warden, facility captain, correctional counselor III and correctional counselor II. He served as a correctional sergeant at the California Correctional Center (CCC) from 1991 to 1994 and held the same position at the Sierra Conservation Center from 1987 to 1991. Salazar started with the Department of Corrections in 1983 as a correctional officer at CCC. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $129,108. Salazar is a Republican.H. Benjamin Curry, Jr., 57, of Atascadero , has been appointed warden of the Correctional Training Facility. He has served in the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) since 1974 and currently serves as acting warden of the Correctional Training Facility. Curry was chief deputy warden at the California Men’s Colony (CMC) from 2003 to 2006. Prior to this promotion, he held several positions at CMC from 1995 to 2003. Curry was facilities captain at the Sierra Conservation Center in 1995 and served as correctional lieutenant at California State Prison, Sacramento and Folsom State Prison from 1993 to 1995. He began his career with CDCR as a correctional officer at the California Institute for Men in 1974. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $129,108. Curry is a Republican.
